The West of England Academic Health Science Network (http://www.weahsn.net/) has teamed up with Wazoku to crowdsource ideas from its networks in order to improve healthcare.  It is using Idea Spotlight to capture ideas from its 30,000 members and to achieve measurable gains in health and well-being.

West of England AHSN is one of 15 networks across England, launched by the Government in May 2013 to transform health and healthcare by putting innovation at the heart of the NHS. It aims to connect a great number of health industry members and stakeholders and to support growth of the national and local economy through health sector innovation. The AHSN works with a variety of organisations and institutions (Universities, NHS practitioners and industry) in the West of England to accelerate the spread of innovative care and to improve healthcare quality. Their shared commitment to excellence aims to deliver multiple economic benefits through regional investment,  job creation and effective procurement.

“We need to engage a diverse audience from a large geographical area and connect the network together. Idea Spotlight for Government is an ideal way to do this – it makes it easy for us to capture and test ideas, promote opportunities and challenges, and engage across organisational, sector and geographic boundaries.”

Deborah Evans, Managing Director of West of England AHSN
