Yesterday night at BL-NK, the new creative hub located in Shoreditch, our CEO Simon Hill was named the Guardian Small Business Leader of the Year!
Among the three nominations selected by the Guardian’s judges there were Zak Edwards, managing director at prezzybox.com (an online gift retailer), Amanda Barlow, managing director of Spieza Organics (organic skin care products manufacturer and distributor) and of course Simon Hill, CEO of Wazoku.
After the initial nomination, the decision was left to the crowd through an open vote system. During the past two weeks the web has been expressing its preference and last night, Wazoku was awarded as the best 2014 small business.
In accepting the award, Simon noted “it is not something personal, but instead it is something that belongs to the whole organisation, as without the team all of this couldn’t have been possible”.
“This is the result”, he goes on, “of passion and commitment and everyone at Wazoku has been working very hard up to this point. I consider this victory as a team accomplishment, not as a personal one. I hope this is just the beginning of many other successes”.
Here’s a small memory of last night. We hope you’ll enjoy it!
