All of us here at Wazoku are excited to announce the introduction of parallel challenges to Idea Spotlight. We are always looking for ways to continue to improve, and allowing our customers and users more flexibility in their platforms is just one of the ways that we look to achieve this. We understand that everyone faces different challenges, which is why Idea Spotlight should be as open and responsive as possible. With our recent update, a challenge creator now has increased flexibility when deciding upon the structure of a set challenge, and can now choose from Parallel or Phased.
When setting a challenge with a phased workflow, different stages of progress are fixed and structured within a given constraint. An example of this would be an idea moving from the open stage of creation, to a discussion stage within a community, to a review stage; each stage acting and occurring independently from its predecessor. This makes this workflow ideal for setting up for time-based challenges such as an innovation of the month competition, or for different stages of a long-term goal, an example being Aviva’s customer cup, where Ideas can move from one round to the next.
What parallel challenges allow you to do, however, is have all stages of a workflow active at any time. Ideas can be selected from their open stage, and moved through to a relevant stage. For example, say you have 20 ideas and of these, maybe only four are complete enough to move to the next stage of the development process. With the parallel challenge workflow, you can move your more complete ideas to a review stage to be evaluated, while keeping those that aren’t ready in the opening stage. This allows a much freer format for idea creation, and works best as a long-term, non-time sensitive way to build ideas without a specific challenge.
Another recent addition to functionality is the ability to auto-review. Only available from the parallel challenges workflow, auto-review does exactly what it says on the tin: it enables you to set custom parameters to automatically carry ideas that meet said parameters to the next stage of development without any user admin input. These parameters can be set on a basis of time or activity – the idea moved to the next stage once a set amount of time has passed or a certain number of interactions from other users have happened.
We are constantly updating Idea Spotlight to match the needs our customers, but also to create the most versatile Idea Management Platform, so that you can be as innovative and creative as you can, all within Idea Spotlight.
