“The way to get good ideas is to get lots of ideas and throw the bad ones away.” – Linus Pauling

Linus Pauling was absolutely right! The problem starts when you feel stuck in a rut and no ideas seem to come to you, good or bad. However, there is no reason to despair as there are techniques you can use to help you get ideas that you can feel proud of. We found a very entertaining video by Vertical Measures, teaching a few simple techniques you can employ to get the creative juices flowing. Watch it and you’ll end up stacking up ideas like firewood.

It covers:

  • Mindmapping
  • Right Braining
  • Provocative Actions
  • Break & Build
  • The Pessimist and the Optimist
  • Randomness

Have you tried any of these before? I’m sure that some of these techniques will work like a charm and you’ll get plenty of ideas to consider. Now… how do you go about selecting the best ones? Idea management systems can just be the answer for that.
