Seeking Vessel Owners to test High-Performance Lubricants in High Sulphur residual fuel

  • Award: $2000 USD
  • Challenge type: Electronic Request for Partners (eRFP)
  • Challenge under evaluation

Challenge overview

ABSTRACT

Infineum is looking to collaborate with vessel or engine owners to test their additive package as part of a field trial. The focus of this Challenge is to identify owners, operators, and suppliers of vessels with Wärtsilä four stroke, MAN ES and WinGD two stroke to partner with Infineum.

If you are the owner of a vessel with these engines (or know someone who is) and want to work with Infineum and to test their high-performance additive package, then this is the Challenge for you.

This is an electronic Request-for-Partners (eRFP) Challenge; the Solver will only need to submit a written proposal to be evaluated by the Seeker with the goal of establishing a collaborative partnership.

OVERVIEW

To ensure that Infineum’s additive technology meets OEM performance requirements, they run field tests where the test oil is supplied free of charge to vessel owners. During the trial, regular samples are taken and tested, to see that they meet requirements. Test inspections, conducted by Infineum and the OEM, are arranged as part of the process to look at the condition of the engine. Infineum already has relationships with a network of vessel owners but is looking to expand that further to

  1. Increase the number of field trials conducted
  2. Foster collaboration between owners and the OEM.

Register now if you are a vessel owner or know of one who would be interested in collaborating with Infineum, to test oil and potentially build a relationship with OEM.

This is an electronic Request-for-Partners (eRFP) Challenge. The Solver will write a preliminary proposal (about 1-2  pages, including supporting non-confidential information and contact details) to be evaluated by the Seeker with a goal of establishing a collaboration. Upon completion of the evaluation, the Seeker may contact selected Solvers directly to work out terms.

The Seeker would also like to hear from other Solvers who refer a suitable candidate for a “finder’s fee”, where an amount of ‘$1,000’ will be paid upon providing details of willing vessel owners who are suitable for collaboration. An additional ‘$1000’ will be paid if the field trial commences. See full description for details.

Submissions to this Challenge must be received by 11:59 PM (US Eastern Time) on April 2nd, 2022.

Late submissions will not be considered.

What is an eRFP Challenge?

An InnoCentive eRFP Challenge allows Seekers to submit Requests for Proposals for a partner or supplier to provide materials or expertise to solve a business challenge by leveraging the InnoCentive Solver network. This global community includes organizations and individuals, such as contract research organizations, scientists, university researchers, and technology companies.

After a Solver submits an eRFP response, the Seeker evaluates the responses to determine which Solver(s) to contact for further business discussions. With eRFPs, the Solver must not provide any confidential information in the eRFP response. If your eRFP response is selected, you negotiate the terms of the contract (including scope of work, tasks and duration) directly with the Seeker.

This Challenge type does not require Intellectual Property (IP) transfer. However, sometimes Seekers request that certain IP arrangements be made should a partnership be formed.
