5338013737: Novel Methods for Food Intake Analysis

  • Award: $25000 USD
  • Challenge type: Theoretical - Licensing
  • Challenge under evaluation

Challenge overview

ABSTRACT

Good eating habits are an important aspect of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, but many people struggle to keep track of what they consume. Measuring what we eat and drink – our energy and nutritional intake – enables us to make better-informed decisions about our food choices. However, accurately measuring what we eat is more easily said than done, with current methods onerous and burdensome. The Seeker requests submissions from Solvers who can provide a solution that enables individuals to accurately measure and record their food consumption, conveniently and easily.

This Theoretical Challenge requires only a written proposal.

OVERVIEW

To improve decision-making, the Seeker requests submissions from Solvers who can provide a solution that enables individuals to accurately measure and record their food consumption, conveniently and easily.

A food diary is a valuable tool for recording food choices and analyzing eating habits, with studies showing that people who use this method tend to eat fewer calories and maintain a healthier body weight. To reduce the burden associated with keeping record, the Seeker is aiming to develop a convenient approach that accurately tracks food intake while requiring minimal user input.

This is a Theoretical Challenge that requires only a written proposal to be submitted. The Challenge award will be contingent upon theoretical evaluation of the proposal by the Seeker.

To receive an award, the Solvers will not have to transfer their exclusive Intellectual Property (“IP”) rights to the Seeker. Instead, the Seeker will be granted a non-exclusive license to practice their solutions by the Solvers.

Submissions to this Challenge must be received by 11:59 PM (US Eastern Time) on December 31, 2022.

Late submissions will not be considered.

What is a Theoretical-Licensing Challenge?

A Wazoku Crowd Theoretical Challenge builds upon an idea but is not yet a proof of concept. A solution to a Theoretical Challenge will solidify the Solver’s concept with detailed descriptions, specifications and requirements necessary to bringing a good idea closer to becoming an actual product or service.

This Challenge is a Theoretical-Licensing Challenge, meaning that the Seeker is requesting non-exclusive rights to use the winning solution. Solvers that do not win retain the rights to their solution after the evaluation period is complete. The Seeker retains no rights to any IP not awarded.
