Wazoku Wins: Wazoku announced as a Best Workplace for Women

Wazoku has officially been announced as one of the UK’s best workplaces for women in a new list released today. One of the many Great Places to Work Awards handed out throughout the year, this list celebrates the organizations that support female colleagues across the entire team. This is Wazoku’s third consecutive win in this category, recognizing our continued commitment to ensuring women at Wazoku can reach their full potential.

Our position on this prestigious list is driven by our annual employee engagement survey. The results are based on what women, including at Wazoku, have anonymously reported to Great Place to Work UK®. about their workplace experience and how well represented they are in the workforce and management.

This year, Wazoku placed in the Medium Organisations category, after landing on similar lists in the ‘Workplaces in Tech’ in 2022 and ‘Workplaces for Wellbeing’ category in 2022 and 2023.

The modern world of work is a landscape that forces employers to be more flexible and understanding of employee’s needs. In the last twelve months, Wazoku has launched a more inclusive maternity and adoption policy, ensuring that new and expectant mothers across the business can take the time they need to be with their children before coming back to work.

We’ve also taken steps to ensure our job advertisements are more inclusive, reacting to research that shows women are more likely to ‘self-opt-out’ of applications if they don’t meet all the criteria.

We’ve included a clause which says: “if you are excited about this role but your experience does not align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway” as well as changing our experience expectations for roles.

Furthermore, the Wazoku team continues to see women in management roles, including 8 out of 14 C-Suite and Director-level roles.

“As a business with a female co-founder, Wazoku has always had women at the very centre of our organization. This inclusion in Great Place to Work’s list is recognition that this has continued all the way into our 12th year. I’m proud to work for a company that celebrates the perspectives, personalities, and success of our female colleagues, and can’t wait to continue working to make us an even better workplace for all, including women.”
// Nicola Pearson, HR Business Partner at Wazoku

It’s always great to be recognized as a Great Place to Work in any category. In the area of Workplaces for Women, our inclusion on this list is very welcome. We want to congratulate every other organization that placed on this year’s list. We look forward to continuing our work and making Wazoku an even better place to work for women in the future.
