Wazoku to lead Decarbonization Roundtable!

As a precursor to its in-person event in February, the people behind Oil and Gas Automation and Technology Week are hosting a virtual webinar with key players in the industry. Moderating this roundtable is a really exciting opportunity for Wazoku, and in this blog, we take a look at what to expect.

The oil and gas industries are currently in a very interesting stage. As the world turns more towards newer, greener ways of sourcing energy, the giants of fossil fuels are at risk of becoming obsolete within a generation. It’s a bleak outlook, but one that isn’t completely without hope.

For one thing, a global transition to renewable energy takes a long time. As different governments outline and make progress through individual roadmaps for change, oil and gas is still relied upon to ensure that this move is as seamless as possible. As well as acting as a necessary bridge between two eras, this time also gives the established energy sources the opportunity to reflect and discuss change that would see them retain relevance in a post-fossil fuel world.

One of the most practical ways in which oil and gas can do this is through the adoption, integration, and optimization of new technology. Finding opportunities for increased automation and focusing on the development and scaling of these new technologies to upgrade current ways of working are two areas in which oil and gas can carve out a more sustainable future.

This need to adapt to survive is nothing new. Nevertheless, the path to assured success isn’t an easy one, which is why Oil & Gas Automation and Technology Week (OGAT) is hosting a virtual roundtable event next week, as a precursor to an in-person event that is being held in February.

Focusing on the key topic of decarbonization, the roundtable will bring together leaders in this space. The discussion will offer key insights as to the immediate challenges the industry faces, best practice strategies for identifying and implementing necessary technology, and outlining what long-term decarbonization success looks like to them.

Wazoku’s Andreana Benshoff will be moderating the panel. We’ve got a proud history of enabling businesses and entire sectors to make necessary progress while minimizing risk and cost: all through our Challenge Driven Innovation® methodology.

Joining Andreana on the panel will be:

  • Andrew Murphy, Advisor Future Mobility – Advanced Fuel Products at BP
  • Chris Gilbert, Technical Manager and UK Decarbonization Lead, Phillips 66
  • Ayush Gayaprasad, M&A Program Manager, Shell

Across a number of different energy businesses, Wazoku has been the go-to innovation partner, leveraging internal and external crowds to produce impactful, sustainable change for some of the world’s energy leaders.

From ESB, A2A, Enel, and beyond, we’ve made what previously seemed impossible hurdles for these businesses to overcome a reality, and we look forward to exploring how we can play a part in this vital transition for the oil and gas industry. We hope that you can join us for the event, and we look forward to the opportunity to be a part of this discussion.
